If you are looking to brush up before an exam, we have 19 exam prep sessions lined up, delivered by Microsoft Certified Trainers. The exam preps are listed in the session catalog now (filter under “formats”). Take a look at them to help you plan ahead, and add them in when the schedule builder is live.

Now here’s the NEW part. We heard your feedback about exam preps from previous events. You told us some of the two-exam combo sessions were too rushed. So at Ignite this year, we are introducing a new format of Exam Prep sessions that will span content over TWO sessions. This format will only apply to select MCSA and MCSE level certifications that require TWO exams. For example, the MCSA: Office 365 certification requires candidates to pass exams 70-346 and 70-347, and the content for both of these exams will be spanned over two sessions. I know what you’re thinking: “Two exams, two sessions. What’s new about that?” MCT David Elfassy is here to explain:

“When you are studying for the MCSA: Office 365 exams, you will gain knowledge that will help you in BOTH exams and skills that will span to BOTH lists of exam objectives. We want to make sure that our Exam Prep sessions mirror that experience. Assigning a separate session to each exam would mean that some of the content would be repeated across both sessions; and since we expect MOST candidates interested in Office 365 to attend BOTH sessions, we certainly don’t want to waste your time listening to repeated information. Our solution? Exam Prep on MCSA: Office 365 Part 1 and Exam Prep on MCSA: Office 365 Part 2. Attend both sessions and you will prepare with an expert MCT, with ample time to properly review all topics covered in both exams. The content will flow from one session to the next, ensuring that technical information is NOT repeated across sessions and that the content from the second session builds upon the content from the first session.”

This new format will apply to three tracks at Ignite 2015: MCSA: Office 365, MCSE: Private Cloud, and MCSE: Enterprise Devices and Apps. Keep an eye out for them in the session catalog, and be sure to grab both part 1 and part 2 when the schedule builder comes online.

Additionally, you will find that the exam prep sessions will have even more focus on technical knowledge, and very little “fluff” about certification in general, because we heard you on that, too. If you’re sitting in an exam prep session, you already know about the value of being Microsoft certified. 🙂

For those who want more study resources beyond the prep sessions, we will bring an entire study hall full of materials, too. Look for more information about that in another blog post soon.
